First of all I’d like to thank the people who have posted on this blog while I have run screaming in the opposite direction! I am not the greatest when it comes to sitting down in front of this box (computer) and spending time composing anything of interest or that makes any sense. But after much nagging, I mean encouragement, I have decided to give it a go. For anyone who has read this blog in the past it may take on a different feel. Not only will I tell of things going on at our Coeur d’Alene, Idaho inn, but I want to talk about things that impress and inspire me. I hope you enjoy!
In the mean time here is a picture of the finished patio that John and his brother Scott completed in April. We have had several,weddings,evening managers receptions there, as well as guests just enjoying the area and shade of the Norwegian maple trees. Stay tuned for more.

Spring is in the Air :: Renovations at The Roosevelt Inn
Renovations at the Inn
Spring is in the air…well at least in the Pacific Northwest, sorry New Englanders! This means we are able to start our 2015 renovations! We are building a patio for our guests to relax, watch the sunset and enjoy their favorite beverage with good company. The patio is made from re-purposed brick from Winton Elementary School (1925-2014), where our three girls attended school. Since we are supporters of the history of the area, The Roosevelt Inn being a historic building and schoolhouse, we thought it would be great to bring the history of another educational facility here. A fire pit is in the plan, along with a beautiful 6 ft. fountain! Stay tuned for photos as the job progresses and what the final result will look like. For those that have been guests of ours over the years, and know our “family”, there is a special tribute you’ll enjoy.
